Getting to Know Me

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Jaime!  I teach music to K-8 students at a school for the gifted & academically bright and love helping other educators create safe & inclusive classrooms where children can learn in authentic ways, grow as people - can you say SEL?! - and have a blast making music.

During the school year, you'll find me singing with the wee ones or caroling with the choir, playing Orff instruments or arranging music for the classroom, perhaps even wandering the halls with my students off to serenade their classmates like Italian troubadours!

Outside of school, I'm nearly always out playing with the pups, hiking with Hubby, gardening, or adventuring with the kiddo.

And perhaps you're like me in that nearly anything can spark an idea for school!  From nature walks being a perfect Listening Walk idea, or a picture book serving as a fantastic music lesson, I find myself thinking about ways to engage my students during music class.  Are you the same?  No?  Just me?

Meet Your Teacher
At the start of each school year, I put out a "Meet Your Teacher" handout, though the last few years have been digital.  This morning, before the kiddo woke up, nestled next to the sweet old dogs, I saw the light filter through a window with a pinky-tan hue.  That was it.  I knew just the color for a neutral-hue Meet Your Teacher page this year!

While this may not be everyone's color pallet, I started working on a few templates for Back to School - I know, I know, many of us have hardly taken a school-free breath since finishing up the '21-'22 school year!  Before I knew it, I had a set of templates created and up on TpT.

With a service mindset, I'm always eager to hear what would help you as a teacher, either at school or at home.  I'd love to hear from you!
